About Skyli
Skyli is a private aviation technology company founded in 2026. The company is building a more connected and accessible way to experience private aviation by connecting travelers with private flights, shared flights, empty legs, and private aviation experiences.
Skyli is currently preparing for its initial fundraising round and is seeking an experienced Fractional CFO to help establish its financial foundation, prepare the company for institutional and strategic investment, and support the Founder throughout the fundraising process.
The Opportunity
This is a strategic, hands-on role for an experienced startup finance professional who understands venture fundraising, financial modeling, marketplaces/platform businesses, travel or aviation, fintech/payments, and early-stage company economics.
The ideal candidate will bring both strong financial expertise and a relevant investor network. This person will work directly with the Founder & CEO and serve as a financial thought partner as Skyli moves from pre-launch toward fundraising, product development, and commercial scale.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Investor Strategy
- ·Develop and refine Skyli's fundraising strategy, including target raise, milestones, capital requirements, and use of funds.
- ·Prepare Skyli's financial materials for investor discussions and due diligence.
- ·Identify relevant angels, venture capital firms, family offices, strategic investors, and other potential sources of capital.
- ·Leverage an established investor network to facilitate relevant warm introductions where appropriate.
- ·Help prepare the Founder for investor meetings and financial diligence.
- ·Participate in selected investor meetings and support financial discussions as needed.
- ·Assist with evaluating and comparing financing structures and proposed investment terms in coordination with legal counsel.
- ·Support future fundraising strategy and investor reporting.
Financial Modeling & Strategy
- ·Build and maintain a comprehensive 3 to 5-year financial model.
- ·Develop revenue, transaction volume, take-rate, gross margin, operating expense, cash-flow, and runway assumptions.
- ·Develop unit economics for Skyli's various transaction models.
- ·Model multiple growth and fundraising scenarios.
- ·Establish key financial KPIs and dashboards.
- ·Pressure-test assumptions and identify key financial risks and opportunities.
Business & Unit Economics
- ·Help define the appropriate financial model for Skyli as a private aviation technology platform.
- ·Analyze transaction economics across private flights, shared flights, empty legs, and other potential revenue streams.
- ·Evaluate customer acquisition economics, contribution margin, take rate, repeat booking behavior, and scalability.
- ·Help distinguish platform revenue from funds flowing through the platform where appropriate.
- ·Advise on pricing, commissions, payment structures, and other financial considerations.
Financial Infrastructure & Governance
- ·Establish appropriate financial processes and controls for an early-stage technology company.
- ·Advise on accounting, budgeting, cash management, and financial reporting.
- ·Work with accounting, tax, legal, payments, and other external advisors as needed.
- ·Support cap table management and financial documentation.
- ·Prepare investor reporting and ongoing financial updates following the raise.
Ideal Background
- ·8+ years of relevant finance, corporate finance, investment banking, venture capital, startup finance, or CFO experience.
- ·Previous experience as a CFO, fractional CFO, VP Finance, Head of Finance, investment banker, or comparable senior financial role.
- ·Demonstrated experience supporting pre-seed, seed, or Series A fundraising.
- ·Strong understanding of venture-backed startup economics.
- ·Experience building financial models from the ground up.
- ·Existing relationships with relevant investors and demonstrated ability to facilitate meaningful introductions.
- ·Experience with marketplaces, travel technology, aviation, fintech, payments, SaaS, or transaction-based businesses strongly preferred.
- ·Comfortable operating in an early-stage environment where strategy and execution are equally important.
- ·Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear business decisions.
The ideal person is not simply an accountant or financial administrator.
Engagement
This is initially a fractional advisory engagement, with the potential to develop into a longer-term relationship as Skyli grows and secures funding.
The initial engagement will focus on:

- ·Investor targeting and introductions
- ·Financial due diligence preparation
- ·Ongoing strategic financial guidance
Compensation: To be discussed based on experience, scope, and level of involvement. A combination equity/deferred compensation may be considered for the right candidate.
